Gift Cards

“Gift card” or “pre-paid card” means any certificate, electronic card, or other similar medium.

  • SAIE funds cannot be used to purchase gift cards or pre-paid cards for any purpose.
  • Any request for exception to this guideline (such as gift cards for student assessment surveys) must be pre-approved by the director of assessment and planning.

Student Gifts

Gifts cannot be purchased for individual students.

  • Providing anything of monetary value to a specific student must be reported to Financial Aid and it may affect a student’s Financial Aid Award to the detriment of the student.
  • Financial Aid requires a Student Award Form to be filled out anytime a student receives a prize, monetary award, scholarship, gift, or cost of attendance item.
  • For more information or to access the Student Award Form please see https://www.du.edu/admission-aid/financial-aid-scholarships/campus-community-partners under “Information for DU Staff and Faculty”.
