- Although moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages during meals or during social events is not prohibited, the University of Denver discourages the consumption of alcoholic beverages during working hours.
- Individuals are prohibited from reporting to work under the influence of alcohol.
- SAIE staff should also be aware of and in compliance with the alcohol policy (section 3.20.010) described in the University of Denver policies.
- SAIE is one of many institutional units that focuses on students’ successful acclimation to and matriculation and graduation from DU. Because of this, SAIE staff hold an important role in modeling responsible behavior.
- To support standards and expectations related to responsible alcohol use, division staff are encouraged to limit the use of University funds for costs associated with the purchase of alcohol. This philosophy should be considered during University functions, conference attendance, and sanctioned meals with University staff or guests of the University (e.g., speakers, consultants, performers, etc.).
