Intune for Windows Updates

Information Technology recently completed the implementation of Intune, a Windows device management solution. Intune allows the IT Department to easily and remotely upgrade DU owned Windows devices ensuring the most current and secure operation.

Much like your personal devices at home, you will now receive automatic updates on your DU owned Windows work device. These updates will vary in time required to complete. You may defer the update, for a limited period of time, to allow your device to complete the update process after hours as to not disrupt your work.

The initial automatic update process will begin the last week of January - February 2022. Following the initial update, your DU owned Windows device will receive upgrade notifications 60 days after Microsoft releases future operating system and security updates.

If you have knowledge of an older DU owned Windows device that is not eligible for upgrade because it is attached to an instrument or is running an older version of software no longer available, please complete this exemption form to request exclusion from the automated update process.

*Please note, exemptions will not be granted for personal preference for older operating systems due to potential security concerns.

IT@DU appreciates your partnership in ensuring secure and efficient Windows device management. If you have any questions about this update process, please contact the IT Help Center at 303-871-4700 or support@du.edu.
